DSST has signed a petition supporting a discounted RTD pass for youth and low-income individuals, and we’re hoping you’ll join us in the push for transportation equity.
Transportation continues to be a significant obstacle for many of our families when it comes to accessing high-quality educational options. We believe that by partnering with RTD and offering a discounted youth pass, our students will have another option to get to and from school, as well as a way to access other meaningful opportunities around the city, such as internships or extra-curriculars outside of their school.
DSST’s Advocacy Team has supported at the RTD Pass Study Working Group by attending the meetings and giving testimony around the barrier that transportation poses to our families. You can also lend your support by signing a petition urging RTD to create these discounted pass options.
We also hope you can attend a press conference ahead of Thursday’s Denver Public Schools Board of Education meeting where the group will ask board members to adopt a resolution concerning transit equity for students. RSVP for the press conference or to lend your support to the group.
