Project: Create Week 5- The Penultimate Challenge

Posted by DSST Public Schools on 05/12/20

In this week’s challenge, students will explore the world of superheroes and villains, and create their own, based on topics within the Arts or STEM worlds. The world is filled with shades of grey, but the good vs. evil binary pervades in many of the stories, real and fictional, that we know and love. Superheroes and villains go head to head in movies, books, podcasts, TV, sometimes even the news, but in Project: Create this week, students will present these characters through a trading card or a comic book. Please encourage your students and any K-12 Colorado student you may know to participate in this contest!

Students can create their superhero or villain through an Arts or STEM lens:

Arts: Create a superhero and villain based on topics in society, music, or arts. Your characters can be created in either a trading card or a comic book.

STEM: Create a superhero and villain based on topics in science, technology, or math. Characters can be created in either a trading card or a comic book.

Click here for full challenge details.

Students should submit their trading card or comic book here by Monday, May 18 at 8 AM.

This week, Swallow Hill Music will be offering three different (but equally awesome!) grade-specific prizes:

K-5: A ukelele with three hours of online class with an instructor

6-8: A ukelele with three hours of online class with an instructor

9-12: 3 songwriting sessions OR rock n roll sessions with a Swallow Hill Instructor
