Grab your party hats and join us in celebrating an incredible milestone - DSST Public Schools is turning 20 years old! It's been two decades of laughter, learning and amazing achievements, and we couldn't have done it without our fantastic Denver and Aurora supporters, friends and families who have been by our side.
From humble beginnings with 129 students in our very first 9th-grade class at DSST: Montview (formerly DSST: Stapleton), we've blossomed into a vibrant part of our communities, now boasting 16 schools and over 17,000 students. We also have over 900 amazing staff members who show up and put in the work every day.
You know what they say - age is just a number, but we've got some numbers that truly shine. One hundred percent of our graduating classes are accepted to college or postsecondary programs. DSST was also awarded the 2018 Broad Prize for being the top-performing charter school network in the nation! DSST: Montview High School was also in the top three high schools in America during President Obama’s Commencement Challenge back in 2010.
Our journey wouldn't be half as fun without our amazing students, educators, staff, and parents who make up the DSST family. You all have powered us through this incredible ride.
As we hit this double-decade mark, we've got some exciting shindigs planned:
We are also rolling out a strategic plan that's going to make the next 20+ years even more awesome. Thank you for being a part of our journey.
Here's to 20 years of success and countless more to come!
