We are excited to announce that we will be partnering with the organization Stepmojo to offer new, high-interest course offerings for our high school students during Trimester 3 of this school year. As you know, we have been striving to expand our course offerings in pursuit of realizing our STEM vision, cultivating passion and purpose in our students, and providing opportunities for college credit. We began this work through our own internal Cross Network Courses over the past two years and are looking to continue to build upon that work through this partnership with Stepmojo. We invite you to provide feedback too on the offerings and rate them here.
How Will This Work?
The courses offered through Stepmojo will be virtual courses offered in addition to the courses already offered through DSST’s academic programming. Students participating in these virtual courses will earn credit towards graduation and be supported by a DSST staff member in a proctored classroom at their school. Many of the courses offered through Stepmojo will also provide opportunities for college credit.
We will be piloting the partnership with Stepmojo starting in Trimester 3 this spring to learn as much as possible before scaling our offerings for the 22-23 school year. This week a subset of students at Byers, CG, Cole, CV, and MTV will receive information and take a student interest survey. This survey will be used to determine if students at the participating pilot schools are eligible to and interested in taking a Stepmojo course this spring during 6th period and would be in place of an elective.
Thank you all in advance for being a part of this process as we continue to provide more opportunities to our students and imagine what high school course offerings will look like next year and beyond. Please reach out to Nicole Fulbright or Lauren Jones-Kaplan with any questions or for more information.
