At Our Core: Celebrating our SAT results

Earlier, I sent a message about A+ Colorado’s latest report which includes our students’ remarkable performance on the 2017 SAT. At DSST: Cole, Green Valley Ranch, and Stapleton, our students were consistently among the top performers in the state.

Across the board, our students performed well. Our low-income students had 3 of the top 4 average reported SAT scores in the state, and there are 482 high schools in Colorado. Our students also had the top 3 average scores among African-American students. Latino students at Stapleton and GVR were #4 and #6 overall. And Cole’s Class of 2018 had the #3 average score among African-American students and #4 for low-income students across the state.

Each of you play a role in making these types of results possible. From the first day our students walk onto our campuses, we all work tirelessly toward helping them reach their potential. Whether you are in the classroom, front office, or home office, you should all be extraordinarily proud of what our students are accomplishing.

I encourage you to take a moment to think about the significance of this news, too. We are making progress on our goal of closing the achievement gap and ending educational equity.  And we still have more to do. I look forward to focusing our efforts and continuing these great results. Again, thank you for all you do.
