Dear DSST Team,
I am writing to share the news that Brad White, School Director of DSST: Byers Middle School & High School, will be starting a new chapter in his career and leaving at the end of the 2018-19 school year. Brad has been with Byers from the founding of the very first 6th grade class in 2013 and has overseen the evolution of the school as the #1 top-performing middle school in Denver for five consecutive years.
It has been a privilege to have Brad on the DSST team for so many years. Brad’s dedication to his staff, his students, and their families is felt by everyone who works with him, and shines through the vibrant school community and outstanding student achievement that he and his staff have nurtured throughout the past six years. His commitment to the DSST Core Values has not only served Byers well, but was exemplified in his work as Associate School Director at DSST: Cole and through his dynamic support for our network of schools in myriad ways.
Just like each school in our network, DSST: Byers is full of dedicated leaders and staff. I am confident that the work Brad and the Byers team has accomplished will set the school up for success for years to come. To further make this transition as seamless as possible, we are looking to name a new School Director by December 2018.
Brad will be leaving Denver with his family at the end of this school year to return to Minnesota, where his education career began. He will be working to launch a new school in Minneapolis and St. Paul, where he plans to harness his dedication to excellence, spirit of collaboration, and the many other lessons he has learned while working here at DSST to help close the city’s achievement gaps.
Please join me in thanking Brad for his meaningful work at DSST over the past seven years. I applaud his tireless dedication as an educator, leader, and friend. While he will be missed, there is no doubt that he is destined to accomplish great things in Minnesota as he continues his education journey.
