What to know now that DSST Benefits Open Enrollment is live

Written by DSST Public Schools | 05/02/23

DSST’s annual Benefits Open Enrollment kicked off Monday, May 1 and will go through May 31.

All benefits-eligible team members should have received a Workday task prompting you to make your benefit selections for the upcoming year. Please make sure you take time to carefully review DSST’s benefits offerings including fertility coverage for those enrolled in medical plans, expanded plan options and new voluntary insurance options (like pet insurance!) so you can make the selection best for you and your family’s wellness.

We understand that these decisions are important, and we also know that they can be hard to navigate on your own. In addition to dedicated office hours specific for benefit enrollment support, you can always find the most up-to-date information on the DSST Benefits Site.

Benefits FAQs:

  • Why is enrolling worth my time? Staying healthy is important, and we aren’t just talking about your physical health. Health insurance not only provides you with access to benefits to support your physical and mental health, but it also provides financial protection in case you have a serious accident or illness.
  • How do I enroll and by when? You will enroll in benefits through Workday using the desktop or mobile application starting on May 1, 2023. Need to download the app? Here’s a guide on how to do it! You must log in and enroll or waive coverage in Workday by Wednesday, May 31, 2023. The new plan year will begin July 1, 2023. Even if you are waiving (declining) DSST benefits, you still must log into Workday and actively waive your enrollments.
  • What support will be provided if I have questions?
    • Meeting Presentations: The benefits team will be presenting information to all campuses and the Home Office staff during staff meetings in May. These presentations are a great opportunity for you to learn more about updates, benefit offerings and to ask questions about plan coverage.
