This month’s Healthy U will provide an inside look into the perks our staff will receive through our new medical provider, Kaiser Permanente. As always, we hope to provide you with the information and tools needed to achieve both personal and professional fulfillment.
Changing medical providers can be challenging -- that’s why Kaiser and DSST are committed to providing you with the best transition assistance possible. In previous communications like the Helix blog post, we have shared information about cost, your provider choices, and important contact information. What you may not know is that Kaiser offers a number of wellness initiatives and services as a part of their coverage. See below to learn more!
Fitness Discounts!
Kaiser offers the Active & Fit Direct program which gives you access to fitness center memberships for just $25 a month. Choose from 9,000-plus participating fitness centers and instructor-led classes nationwide! You can also access additional discounts through the Choose Healthy Program, which provides discounts on specialty services such as acupuncture and massage therapy as well as online fitness discounts. Please note: These perks will activate when your Kaiser coverage begins.
Acupuncture, Massage, Chiropractic Services, Oh My!
Our Kaiser plans include 20 chiropractic visits per year. Depending on the plan you choose, these visits may have a $25 co-pay or count toward your deductible. Though not a part of our Plan, Kaiser also offers massage therapy and acupuncture at select Kaiser facilities for members and non-members!
- Massage Rates - $33 per half hour*
- Acupuncture Rates- $90 for initial consult and treatment. $64 for recurring visits*
- Non-Member Chiropractor Rates- $80 initial consult and treatment. $50 for recurring services*

Care is at the tip of your fingers with Kaiser’s online chat and phone visit options, which are 100% free of charge! Sometimes it can be hard to find time to go to the doctor, so Kaiser provides options that fit your schedule. Get fast answers to urgent questions using the online chat tool, or schedule a phone visit, E-Visit or online consultation for non-urgent questions. Or schedule a video visit as an alternative to an in-person visit so you can see your doctor at home or in the office. Members who choose the video visit option will be charged an office visit copay/coinsurance.
