In today’s difficult times, with a seemingly endless stream of bad news and more time spent at home, many of us are turning to numerous vices furry friends, both old and new, to help us conquer the challenges. This week, we are highlighting a new puppy, Bonnie, adopted by Godfrey De La Hoz, Social Studies teacher at Noel MS.
While the start to the year has been virtual, history lives on! In Godfrey’s Social Studies class, students have been enjoying a new unit on Greece and Rome, and their writing has already been improving tremendously.
Godfrey adopted Bonnie, a German Shepherd mix, seven weeks ago from Colorado Puppy Rescue, and she has brought a lot of joy and great company. Exploring her new world, Bonnie loves to run around in the backyard and go on long walks.
New to the area, Bonnie is still sniffing out the neighbors, however her and her good friend Jack play tag and lounge in the backyard together.
Bonnie is always sure to get her beauty sleep, but particularly enjoys sleeping under beds- her own, or Godfrey’s.
“Beds are the new blankets, haven’t you heard??”
Don’t expect to hang with Bonnie if you’re not willing to offer nonstop pets. At the sign of any pause in petting, she’ll take her paw and gently nudge you for a friendly reminder that the pets can (and should) certainly continue.
