While we have begun the school year remotely, with empty classrooms and hallways across the network, the work of our school operations team has not gotten any simpler. From coordinating the checkout of nearly 7,000 laptops, to helping ensure that 100% of our students have access to the internet, the Ops team has had their work cut out for them! This week, we’re highlighting Greg Avedikian, Manager of School Operations, and his two dogs Stella and Bodie. Greg is the operations partner for Aurora Science & Tech, College View MS & HS, and Henry MS, and works to help ensure the Front Office teams at those campuses have what they need to make their schools run smoothly, while also planning and coordinating capital construction and maintenance projects with our DPS and APS partners.

Stella and Bodie are both rescues from Foothills Animal Shelter- Stella was adopted in April 2014 and then Bodie joined the family shortly after in October.  Bodie is an Australian cattle dog, also known as a Red Heeler, and Stella is a border collie/pit bull mix- the two have been best friends now for over 5 years!

"Do you mind? We have a lot to catch up on…"

Both Bodie and Stella enjoy going on Colorado adventures as much as they love running at full speed in their own backyard, where they chat with their neighbors Buddy, Boomer, and Optimus Prime through the fence. 

Absolutely famished after those neighbors talked our ears off- need more snacks!

While Bodie and Stella love the outdoors and camping, Bodie is a little more wary of water. The one (and only) time Bodie went swimming, he ran off at full speed while camping at Blue Mesa Reservoir. Catching too much air, he ran right off some rocks at the edge of the water into the reservoir, and immediately swam back to shore and jumped out. He has never gone near a body of water since.

“Hey Bodie! Careful with the water over there!”

Stella and Bodie, while known to bark at inopportune times, are always ready and attentive for a football game, especially when it comes to sporting their jerseys. They are excited that football season is just around the corner!

“Put the game on! Where are the chips?”
