As homes have become offices or virtual classrooms, having clear and accessible education technology systems, and people who can help us troubleshoot, is more important than ever. During your own troubleshooting, you may have already e-met Lori Apabo, Education Technology Coordinator at the Home Office, who helps staff from across the network navigate our different tech systems and unravel the snafus that may happen now and again. While working from home, her two cats and Pets of the Week Odin the Great, King of Meowsgaard, and Meowcolm X, keep her entertained.
Lori has had Meowcolm, a Maine Coon Mix, for 9 years, and Odin, a domestic shorthair, for 8. They both hail from Florida, just like Lori!
While Odin is younger and smaller than Meowcolm, he is the alpha male and boss of the house. Meowcolm doesn’t make eye contact often and never meowed as a kitten, so much so that Lori and her boyfriend thought she was partially blind and mute for the first few years.
Meowcolm is a real homebody, and has been thriving during quarantine. She enjoys watching birds, eating until she throws up (Cheetos are her favorite), and hanging out in boxes.
Odin, a little more audacious, likes to go on kittyventures (long walks in the hallway) and nibble on teriyaki chicken. While Meowcolm loves a hoodie, Odin really hates wearing his Yoda costume.
But he loves to watch his team play on TV!
Even though Odin has been known to terrorize Meowcolm now and again, they always kiss and make up.
