Referral bonus increases for certain roles

Written by DSST Public Schools | 03/21/18
As DSST approaches Spring Break, the Talent Team is continuing its quest to find and hire effective teachers for next year. But we also know referrals often lead to some of our best hires, so we’re increasing the bonus you can earn if the network ends up hiring an outstanding teacher you’ve referred.

To help find top talent for DSST, many of whom could be working alongside you next year, we are increasing bonuses to $1,000-$2,000 for certain roles.

So far this year, we have hired 16 employee-sourced referrals, and more are in various stages of the interview process. Thank you for all those amazing candidates! Now we hope you can help even more.

In the past, we have paid bonuses between $350 to $500 for referrals who were hired. With the growth of our schools and lack of teachers across the nation, we are increasing that amount with the goal of finding even more talented educators and staff! For example, 25% of our middle teachers hired last year were staff referrals, and we hope that you can help increase that percentage for next year.

For the 2018-2019 referrals that are hired will receive their bonus in September. Below are the high-need positions and bonus amounts:

$1,000 bonus:

  • Middle School Teachers (all subject areas except Math)

  • High School Spanish Teachers

  • English Language Learner Teachers

$2,000 bonus:

  • Middle School Math

  • Special Education Teachers (Middle and High)

  • Center Program Teachers

And if you’re interested in earning extra money before September, we are now doing MONTHLY raffles based on referrals submitted each month where TWO winners will win $500. Check back next week to hear who the winners are for March! The more referrals you submit, the more opportunities you have to win!

What if you’ve already submitted referrals? The good news is you’re eligible for the increased bonus if the person is hired and working in September. To review all the guidelines and requirements for what is considered a referral, check out the 2018-2019 Referral Policy.

Ready to submit a referral? Do it here! It’s also located on the Helix Homepage.
