You may have noticed a lot of buzz around Flyer and Google Classroom Calendars leading up to and through this first week of school. Not only is Flyer a great tool for communicating with families through broadcast messages and translated two way chats, but there are additional features that make the app a one stop shop for families. One of those features is a calendar integration with Google Classroom calendars. By integrating your Google Classroom calendar ID into your corresponding Flyer groups, any assignment you post on Google Classroom will populate on the Flyer calendar for verified families on the app. When all teachers integrate their calendars, families have a complete picture of all assignments, across all classes, that their students have coming up, all in one place!
The process of integrating all of your Google Classroom Calendars into your Flyer groups should take around 20 minutes. This brief task in the busy weeks of the start of school will pay off huge dividends over the course of the year, as families will be able to have clear insight into what assignments from Google Classroom need to be completed by their students. A significant number of families from across the network have said that having a clear calendar of upcoming assignments would be one of the most powerful tools to support their students’ learning from home. (Pro-tip: Add as much detail as possible in the assignment description so it populates in the Google Classroom Calendar and pushes to Flyer)
