Many of us have been spending more time in our homes curled up with a good book, or maybe exploring our neighborhoods on (so many) walks, and this week’s FINAL challenge combines the two. Students will have the opportunity to create their own nonfiction children’s book, covering a topic specific to their community, with either a STEM or Arts focus. This could range from a book covering local environmental issues or highlighting social challenges in the community. For some, a 2020 reboot of Germs Make Me Sick may immediately come to mind.
Students can create their book using Book Creator, and as always, have two ways to approach the challenge:
STEM: Write a children’s nonfiction book based on a topic in science, technology, engineering, or math from your community.
Arts: Write a children’s book based on a topic that highlights connection, humanity, social challenges, or families in your community.
Please encourage your students to participate in this final challenge! They could win a year’s long family membership to the Denver Zoo, and a chance to be on TV!

Students should submit their final project here by Monday, May 25 at 8 AM.
