October is National Principals Month, and at DSST Public Schools, we’re lucky to have a lineup of incredible school directors who bring heart, energy and vision to our schools every day.
Each school director plays a unique role in making our schools vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring places to learn. Whether they’re cheering on students at morning meetings, stopping by classrooms with a quick wave or going above and beyond to support teachers, our school directors are the champions of our school communities.
Our students feel the impact of their leadership every day. Here’s what a few of them had to say about our fantastic principals:
"One way Ms. Mesa impacted me is by helping me out with the classes I'm in to get back on track to continue my education. Also she's really nice, kind, gives advice, and is sunny." – Tyree McFadden, DSST: Elevate MS student
"Ms. Favorite has shown me how to stand out in a crowd, how to rise and become a leader. She always makes the best decisions for the student body and those around her; she takes everyone's wants and needs into account." – Devin Williams, DSST: Elevate HS student
“Dear Ms. Rodrigues, I know you probably don’t hear this a lot but, I wanted to tell you as a student thank you for watching over this community. You have helped me and other students and teachers feel like a part of this school. You are like the final puzzle piece that we all need. Thank you." – Azriel Crawford, DSST: Green Valley Ranch MS
“Dear Mrs. Rodrigues, I cannot describe how thankful I am to have you as my principal. Thank you so much for your support and care for our schools. It is highly appreciated. The way you handle things goes to show how you strive to help us succeed. It’s clear to me that you believe we, as students, have great potential if we put in the effort, which is why we have been rated Green. All this amazing progress we have made is because you believe in us.” – Maryam H, DSST: Green Valley Ranch MS
“I appreciate Mr. Wynings because he has tried to help students out and attends classes and takes notes on how we can do better. He also supports the teachers in what they have to do better. He gives great feedback.” – Atalia Reyes, DSST: College View MS
To our amazing principals: thank you for all you do to empower and inspire. This month, we celebrate you, but we’re grateful for you every single day!
