Welcome, Danielle Felder: DSST's new Chief External Affairs Officer

A note from DSST CEO Bill Kurtz:

I am excited to announce that we have hired Danielle Felder as our new Chief External Affairs Officer after an extensive search.

She has a deep background in the nonprofit field after spending time as the Executive Director of the Colorado Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs and Boys & Girls Clubs of Colorado. During her leadership at these organizations, she developed statewide legislative agendas as well as policy initiatives that support Colorado Clubs and amplified youth voice in advocacy.

Danielle also spent time as the Chief Development Officer for the Emily Griffith Foundation, where she was responsible for fundraising and developing relationships and partnerships with companies, government officials, nonprofits, individuals, and foundations. She spent a great deal of her time at Emily Griffith developing programs and scholarship opportunities for high school students and adults, and brings higher education strategic program management to her role.

Before working in the nonprofit field, she was an attorney for six years and practiced employment, finance and business law at national law firms in Denver. Danielle received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Colorado Law School and her Bachelors of Science in International Business and Finance from the University of Denver.

Danielle has served (or currently is serving) on various boards and organizations and is personally passionate about education and workforce development.

“I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work with all of you in supporting kids across Denver and Aurora and building equitable education opportunities. The success of so many young people are in the hands of DSST’s staff and schools, and I am excited to be able to contribute to that continued success.”

If she isn’t in her office, you can likely find her playing volleyball! She plays beach, grass, court, doubles, 4s, co-ed and everything in between.

She is also an avid reader. She speed reads (and sometimes listens to) 8-12 books a month on average. Ever the bookworm, Danielle is willing to put down her latest piece of literature and challenge anyone to a game of Mario Kart on Nintendo 64 because she’s definitely going to win!

Help me in welcoming Danielle to the DSST team! We are so excited to have her and can’t wait to see how she helps make our network better.
