A message from Founding School Director Adeel Khan congratulating the Founding Class of DSST: Conservatory Green HS for 100% college acceptance:
Congratulations to the Senior Class of 2021 on making history by achieving 100% acceptance to a 4-year college today! Even more impressive, every senior is currently averaging 4 college acceptances (and counting,) many have earned significant scholarship dollars, and we’re still waiting on many big acceptances in April. This is a truly special accomplishment that is fitting for this incredible group of founding seniors. We are beaming with pride. From the first day with the Class of 2021 as freshman, we discussed that the fundamental reason for our school to exist was to fight inequity and provide a world full of choice and opportunity to our graduates. Not only does today set an incredible legacy for all students who walk through our doors for years to come, it also shows the entire city and country what’s possible for all students when given the right environment and a committed and caring village of teachers, parents, and community members around them. We’ve accomplished a lot as a school over the past four years, but none of these are more important than providing our kids with excellent choices when they leave us.
So much goes into the moment of college acceptance, and so many teachers, supporters, family members, friends, and community members have helped every single one of our Seniors arrive there. We’re so thankful for all who have contributed to reaching this historic achievement. A special thank you to our College Success team led by Valerie Wilkinson, our Director of College Success, who played an enormous role in helping students navigate the college process and thanks again to our entire Hornet community!
