During the past several weeks, we have had so many reasons to celebrate: Our Senior Signing Day, Slice of Pi, producing the top SAT scores in the state, being named a Top Workplace, among others. All of these illustrate the deep and lasting impact DSST has on our students. It is our teachers who make that happen.
We witnessed the pure joy at Senior Signing Day from students realizing their amazing accomplishments. Every one of you played a key role on their path to college acceptance. And it’s impossible to forget the moment GVR alum Chhorda Vuth fought back tears during her speech at Slice of Pi as she thanked teachers who helped her to find her passion and end up at the University of Denver on a scholarship.
These are only a few of the hundreds, even thousands, of stories that illustrate the profound influence you have as educators.Through your hard work, our students are capable of extraordinary results because you, too, are extraordinary.
We hope you felt the love during Teacher Appreciation Week. You truly do “knock our socks off,” and I am inspired everyday watching you work with our students. I appreciate your commitment to the DSST community, and please know that your work doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you for all that you do.
