While Denver stay-at-home orders will be lifted in just a few days, the future still remains uncertain. Nevertheless, keeping spirits high is essential to strong mental and physical health. This week’s challenge is focused on joy, hope, and entertainment, and K-12 students across Colorado will have the opportunity to design a toy that can be created with a 3D printer, or write an original song! We hope you will encourage all of your students and any K-12 Colorado student you may know to participate in this week’s creative challenge! This week’s sponsor, the Denver Botanic Gardens, are giving away a family pack of four tickets for a joyful stroll through the gardens.
Students can enter Project: Create in two different ways:
STEM- Create a toy that can be printed on a 3-D printer, using Computer-Aided Design (CAD). Students can use any platform used to make 3D printing files, but we recommend that they sign up for a free TinkerCAD account.
Arts- Create a song (lyrics and music) that brings hope or joy. Create your song through any platform, or sign up for a free Soundtrap account through Project: Create.
The winners will be featured on CBS4 every Wednesday, and will get to enjoy the Denver Botanic Gardens for free once they reopen!
You can view the full challenge details here, including tips and resources to help students get started. Students should submit their entries here by Monday, May 11 at 8 AM.
