For the third consecutive year, DPS was a district winner of CDE's ELPA Excellence Award for the 2017-18 school year, and DSST had four schools which earned recognition.

DSST: Cole High School, DSST: Green Valley Ranch Middle and High Schools, and DSST: Conservatory Green Middle School were honored for their work around English language development.

The award is given to districts with evidence-based English language development (ELD) programs that have demonstrated the highest English language and academic growth among English learners, as well as the highest academic achievement for English learners who have transitioned out of program services.
