Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Posted by DSST Public Schools on 01/17/19

As we head into the long weekend and honor the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the many other civil rights activists of past and present, we wanted to take this opportunity to remind you about some of the unique ways you can get involved with the community this weekend.

We hope to see you at the Educating Children of Color Conference in Colorado Springs this weekend! While online registration is closed, you can still register in person on Saturday. There will be many great sessions and presenters, including several members from the DSST Home Office: Dr. Aaron Griffen, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; Uzma Chowdhury, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator; and Tia Phillip, Communications Fellow.

Many DSST staff members will also be participating in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Colorado Holiday Commissions Marade. Be sure to look out for them at City Park. They will be meeting on the west side of the MLK statue around 9 AM.

Have a great weekend!
