There’s one word that encapsulates what it’s been like to be back in schools the past few days - energizing. The All In Together momentum is real, and our Strong Start efforts are showing up and showing out. More importantly, they’re showing up in the experiences we’re creating for students as they begin a new year full of possibility.

It is a daily effort to achieve our goals and desired results for all students. We now have our CMAS Median Growth Percentile (MGP) and P/SAT MGP results for 2025–26.

Here is the headline on 2025-26 growth: DSST students are growing, and these results show the impact of our collective effort. We are building the STEM leaders of the future, and the incredible gains our students made last year demonstrate exactly that. From record-setting gains in math to continued two-year progress for multilingual learners, we have much to celebrate and a clear understanding of where we must focus next, especially in literacy. DSST students that stay with us year after year grow more and become more proficient through our 6-12 program, leading towards college success.

CMAS middle school MGP trends

Networkwide:

• 📈 Math MGP: 53.5 - a 1.5‑point increase from last year; highest MS math growth post COVID. We did not meet our 55 target, and have set the goal at 55 for this year.
• 📉 ELA MGP: 57 - a 1‑point drop from last year and just below the report card target of 58. Our target for this year will be 58.

School-level:

• 🎯 4 MS met ELA targets

• 🏆 CG MS and GVR MS met their school target! Congrats, Hornets and Raptors!

• 🏆 AST MS and Cedar MS exceeded their school target and earned Blue in ELA! Way to grow, Owls and Falcons!
• 🎯3 schools met Math targets

• 🏆AST MS, Cedar MS and GVR MS met their school target!

🎉 AST MS, Cedar MS, and GVR MS met targets in both subjects! Congrats Owls, Falcons and Raptors!

P/SAT high school MGP trends

Networkwide:

• 🏆 Math MGP: 68 - a 5‑point increase from last year, met the report card target of 63, and is our highest HS math MGP since COVID. This year’s target is 65.
• 🏆 DSST schools ranked #3–8 in math MGP in DPS and will likely be among the highest in the state once statewide data is released!
• 📈 R&W MGP: 52 - a 1‑point increase from last year, and missed our target of 55. This year’s target is 55.

School-level:

R&W

• 🏆Cedar HS met their school target. Great work, Falcons!
• 📚 We have meaningful work ahead of us in reading and writing, and these results give us a clear roadmap for where to focus our energy.

Math

• 📐 7 of 8 HS met math targets, and all seven earned math MGPs of 65+ (SPF Blue)!
• 🎯 Cedar HS, Cole HS, CV HS, CG HS, Elevate HS, GVR HS and Montview HS all met their school target. Great work!

ACCESS MGP trends

Networkwide:

• 📈 MS MGP: 56 - a 4-point increase from last year, and a 15 point increase from 2023-24. This is a major win that clearly demonstrates how our strategic plan initiative dedicated to MS English language development is deeply supporting student growth.
• We are growing over time.
• 📉 HS MGP: 52 - a 1‑point decrease from last year, and 4 points higher than 2023-24.

• 📈 Network MGP: 56 - a 1-point increase from last year, and an 8-point increase from 2023-24.

School-level:

• 🏆 Cedar HS & CG HS had ACCESS MGPs of 65+, which is Blue on the SPF.
• 🌟 12 of 16 schools had ACCESS MGPs 50+, which are Green or Blue on the SPF.

• AST, CV, CG, Elevate and Montview achieved 50+. Amazing job, team!

Science

• Science Momentum: Science is our network‑wide bright spot. YES! All eight middle schools increased science 8 proficiency year over year, reaching our highest rate since 2019 and meeting Big 5 Goal #1 for MS Science. For the first time since the CO SPF shift, no schools are Red in Science 8 or Science 11.

• 📐Math Rebound: Math proficiency climbed to 26%, our strongest post‑COVID result. Math 7 and 8 both hit new post‑COVID highs.

• Student Group Growth: Through setting universal goals and using targeted processes to achieve those goals for all student groups, students with Disabilities and Multilingual Learners posted their highest average math scale scores since 2016.

️📊 Proficiency Areas for Growth

• 🛣️ ELA Opportunity Ahead: ELA performance dipped 1.4% networkwide, with most middle schools declining and a sharp drop in ELA 6. Rather than a setback, this is a clear signal about where we can accelerate our impact. We have a powerful opportunity to strengthen early‑grade literacy, deepen writing volume and ensure students build the skills that unlock success across every content area.

• 🛣️ SWD Opportunity Ahead: Gaps for Students with Disabilities widened in both ELA and math, underscoring the urgency and possibility of ensuring every DSST student thrives. This is a pivotal moment to sharpen our supports, strengthen universal design, and lean into the All In Together commitment that fuels our work next year.
