In case you missed the email, you'll find in this post our network’s approach to health and safety and a few resources that outline how our Home Office and school teams have prioritized the health and safety of our students and teammates as we collectively tackle return to school planning.
To fulfill our commitment to ensuring a healthy return to school for all students and staff; we strive to have our standards exceed local health and safety guidelines wherever possible: DSST Approach to Health & Safety. DSST’s health and safety standards exceed the guidance set by our partner districts, Denver Public Health and the Colorado Department of Public Health in several key areas including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Daily Screening & Symptoms Tracking, and Class Sizes & Student Cohorts.
Please also review our Safe Schools Field Guide for an overview of all Health and Safety policies, protocols and procedures shared across all of our campuses. Our Safe Schools Field Guide is not a complete comprehensive guide to reopening as there are many nuances at the school level in areas outside of health and safety where there is no "one size fits all" approach. Each school will also have their own individual health and safety plans, as well as more information about scheduling and the day to day at their campus, and we will continue adjusting the guide as needed with updated information. Families will also be receiving a safe school guide with more student-facing information later this week.
We have heard though school specific and all staff town halls many questions on our safety plans and we hope these guides will help to answer some of those questions. We are so grateful for all the feedback that our teams have received from families, students, teachers, and leaders as we work to create plans and protocols that minimize health risks, while maximizing learning opportunities. Please continue to let us know how we can support you and the DSST Community to return to school safely.
