Senior Highlight: GVR senior shares how she found a love for software engineering, what graduation means to her as an older sibling
DSST: Green Valley Ranch senior Doryanna Aldava had a great role model in her older sister, and now it's her turn to be a role model to her younger brother and friends. We sat down to ask her a few questions about her experience:
Q: How did you find out you were interested in software engineering?
A: It was something that made me feel like I was good at it ... It made me feel like I can actually be someone developing software.
Q:When did you start thinking about college?
A: I started thinking about college when I was in eight grade, because my sister ... is a graduate from this high school as well, so I felt like if she I can do it, and my brothers and siblings can do it also.
Q:Do you see yourself as a role model?
A: I do strive to be a role model for my younger siblings because the small one is the last one out of all of us is in already fourth grade ... he looks up to both (me and my sister) and says 'I want to wear the hat,' like our cap and gowns.
