Content Experts are teacher leaders who will support development during New Teacher Training and lead content-specific training throughout the school year.
DSST Public Schools recognizes that one of the best sources for new team members is referrals from current team members. Last school year, 50% of new hires came from referrals from current team members, community members, students, and families! To show our appreciation for referrals and the talent they bring to our network, DSST Public Schools offers a referral incentive bonus of $500 for every referral you make. Additionally, started February 8, 2019, all Math and Science teacher referrals will earn a $1000 bonus.

Jeff Buck was the very first teacher to sign up for Denver’s revolutionary pay-for-performance system in 2005. More than 13 years later, he is one of a dozen teachers sitting in a conference room at an obscure school district building, trying to unravel what the system has become.
Teachers, the teachers union, district leaders, the school board, and community leaders are unanimous in calling for an effort to close our deplorable achievement gap, yet the outcome of the current teacher compensation impasse (and possible strike) will likely determine what happens to that achievement gap.

Olivia Batist is taking honors math and physics, but her friend — whom she thinks is just as smart — is not. Batist, a ninth grader at DSST: Conservatory Green in northeast Denver, believes the difference is that her friend’s parents aren’t able to advocate for their daughter the same way her own parents have advocated for her.
While DSST boasts a rigorous STEM program, allowing students to innovate every day with challenging projects, experiments, and internships, there is also space to excel in more artistic endeavors. This has been exemplified by DSST: Conservatory Green High School sophomore Katanu Mwendwa, who recently won the prestigious DCPA Education Regional High School Playwriting Workshop and Competition for her play Después de la lluvia (After the Rain). She is one of three finalists whose play will be read at the 2019 Colorado New Play Summit on February 23.
