The Colorado legislature convenes Friday with Democratic majorities in both chambers and a Democratic governor-elect who made education a key part of his campaign. That doesn’t mean 2019 is going to be one extended round of kumbaya.
As we settle back into our work routines and maybe embark on some New Year’s Resolutions, it’s a great time to get reacquainted with the resources and tools that are designed to make your work life easier. One of them is the Home Office: the many people that are here to serve you, our amazing staff, and of course, our students.
We are excited to announce Elin Curry as the School Director for the Byers campus beginning in the 2019-2020 school year! Elin brings a depth of knowledge in the legacy and community of Byers having served in a leadership capacity for the last five years. Throughout her tenure, Elin has helped to solidify a strong instructional vision that prepares students for college, driven a staff culture rooted in core values, and created an empowered and engaged student community.

A big part of the 2012 pitch to convince Colorado voters they should legalize recreational marijuana was that the tax money would fix their local schools.
"Ayanle Nur might have been in his high school Spanish class on December 3, but his mind was elsewhere. The seventeen-year-old DSST Green Valley Ranch senior and son of Somali refugees was awaiting the most important news of his life: whether he had been accepted to his dream school, Yale University.
A+ Colorado reissued today “A Seat at the Table: Colorado Students’ Access to Top Colleges”. Originally released in December 2017, A+ rescinded the report after discovering a significant problem, raised by Cheyenne Mountain Superintendent Dr. Walt Cooper, with the underlying data that tracked Colorado high school students’ matriculation to 300 of the nation’s selective colleges and universities.
