If you are interested in presenting at the upcoming Educating Children of Color Summit, please submit your proposals by July 15. The summit is scheduled for Jan. 19, 2019 at Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
This year’s summit theme is "Building Bridges." The summit seeks to dismantle the cradle to prison pipeline for children of color and children in poverty through education.
UPDATE (8:06 a.m. May 29):
Below are updates on the three systems that were affected at the time of our last update:
The Century Foundation profiles DSST in a new report which was part of a case study on charter school diversity. The report looks at the network's diverse-by-design is working to prove "school integration, educational equity, and academic quality function as complementary."
Most of my students didn’t know any college graduates, but that’s not stopping them from going to college.
We are now officially in our Benefits Open Enrollment period!
Through Tuesday, June 5, 2018, you will need to log in and make your new Kaiser Medical Benefit selection, as well as enroll in additional benefits such as dental, vision or life insurance for the coming year. During this time, you are also able to waive coverage and/or add or remove coverage for dependents. All this can be done through our benefits portal, www.dsst.bswift.com.
As we prepare to celebrate the Class of 2018’s graduation and the end of the school year, the Talent Team hopes to bring some additional joy this morning by announcing the winners of the $500 Referral Raffle bonus this month.
At DSST, we value wellness and support each other to lead fulfilling and healthy lives; which is why we started Healthy U. This month’s Healthy U will provide an inside look into the perks our staff will receive through our new medical provider, Kaiser Permanente. As always, we hope to provide you with the information and tools needed to achieve both personal and professional fulfillment.

I know this time of year can feel like a grueling sprint to the finish, but I hope that you are also taking some time to appreciate the many fruits of your labor — the many accomplishments of our students and schools.
Are you looking for a meaningful summer job opportunity that will benefit local schools and communities across Colorado?
A big shout out to the Reem Abdellatif and Vlad Soto from DSST: Cole High School, who recently were recognized as 2018 LEDA Scholars.
Each year, LEDA (Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America) selects 100 rising seniors who show leadership potential to participate in this prestigious national program. Being selected as a LEDA Scholar is a notable distinction that acknowledges and celebrates their achievements in high school as some of the top students in the country.
