Big dogs are having a moment on Pet of the Week lately, including some young but rapidly growing pets like Ziggy the Bernese Mountain Dog and Duke the Bernedoodle! This week, we’re honored to feature another big guy: Frank, a former foster pet who schemed his way into a permanent residence at Emily Lafferandre’s home.
On Sunday, March 21, the Wolves at College View High School hosted a vaccine clinic in partnership with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE), delivering 202 vaccines to local community members in just one day!
Last week, we had the pleasure of meeting cuddly Duke the Bernedoodle, which was a nice way to transition us into this week’s feted pet, Ziggy, a young Bernese Mountain Dog.
How much is too much puppy content? Most would argue that the limit does not exist, so feast your eyes on this week’s Helix superstar, Duke, the 13 week old Bernedoodle!
While dogs across the city have been enjoying some fresh powder and frolics in the snow after last week’s storm, let’s take a moment to recognize the cats snuggled up at home and thriving- we see you! One of them is Rikia, Riri for short, the one year old kitty of Denise Williams, a 6th grade math teacher at Conservatory Green MS.
Every January, students and families have the opportunity to select the school they’d like to attend the following year by participating in SchoolChoice. Run by DPS, this system helps empower families to select the best school for their student- not just the one that is closest in proximity. Choice helps ensure that a student’s academic opportunities aren’t solely determined by their zip code. Families choose their top 12 schools, and after a lottery in early Spring, they learn which schools they have a spot in for the following year.
Return to School has been no small endeavor, and amidst all of the distancing, masking, health screening, and sanitizing, some of us have lost sight of what matters most. Pet pics! But we’re in for a treat this week as Eric Benzel, Senior Manager of Talent Pipelines introduces us to his distinguished gentleman of a dog, Bronco!
Thank you to everyone who shared your book recommendations over the past few weeks! Without further ado, we'd excited to present your top titles of 2020!
You'll see that we have linked to their dedicated page on the Denver Public Library catalog (with a couple exceptions) so you can learn more and place an easy (and free!) hold on these must reads.
Across the network, students excitedly returned to our buildings this week. Despite the understandable nerves and anxieties, there were so many joyful moments captured at all of our schools. Not to mention living out the values of Respect and Integrity when following our very important safety guidelines! Please enjoy a few snapshots from our first week back!
After a year of impressive board meeting turnouts, impassioned public comments made both in person and virtually, signing petitions, and elevating all voices, we are excited to welcome the Noel Bulldogs to their new high school building this fall.
