With less time spent out, and countless hours spent at home, a silver lining for some of us during this difficult year has been the creation of more space in our lives for books. And as we head into the winter months, it’s a great time to find some new books that can help us connect, escape, and travel, even when our Covid realities can make that kind of exploration seem impossible.
Feedback is essential for improvement, and just as we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts in the Mid-Year Survey, we are also asking families to share their thoughts on Trimester I with a survey of their own. This survey not only provides valuable feedback from families, but also counts towards our collective network goals for the Family and Community Connection Network Priority.
The holiday season is upon us, and between the gift giving and holiday treats, it’s also a nice time to give back to community members who need it most. Staff members across the network are working to make the holidays extra special during these challenging times, and if you’re looking for ways to contribute, we’ve compiled a list below! Come join us at this month’s Affinity Groups! Affinity Groups are a member led space that provides a unique opportunity to build a cross-campus community. They are an intentionally safe space for staff to come together with people who have the same identity (race, gender, sexual orientation, social class, ability, family structure).
While delayed a day thanks to the early wintry weather, Center Programs across the DSST network reopened on Tuesday with great excitement! Here are just a few snapshots of Center Program joy throughout the network!
We know things are crazier than ever- from the news cycle to our own personal pandemic lives, there’s a lot going on. However, in order to continuously improve the satisfaction and development of our team, we are asking for a little bit of your time over the next few weeks to share your candid feedback. This will be in the form of three surveys- the Network Pulse Survey, the Top Workplace Survey, and the Mid-Year Survey.

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a big election quickly approaching! While so much of our time can be spent discussing the presidential election, there are also also many different items on the ballot this year that directly affect the work we do to serve our school community.
In the midst of the big reopening news, let’s not forget the awesome virtual College Fair that juniors and seniors across the network attended on September 25. Nearly 100 colleges from around the world were in attendance, ready to share information about their schools and answer the many astute questions from DSST students.
