It would be impossible for DSST to have the impact that it does without its amazing teachers and staff. Each day, they tirelessly help our students become the best versions of themselves. That’s why we’re happy to give much-deserved special recognition during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4-8.
Charter School Growth Fund:
We are thrilled to share some optional and fun programming we will be hosting on DSST Wellness Day this Friday, May 1st. First and foremost we want you to know that this day is for YOU. Please spend it in a way that best serves you and your family’s well being - so if that looks like completely unplugging from DSST, please do that!
In a world of information overload, we all know that sifting through the many messages and news we receive on a daily, if not hourly basis, can be a challenge. It is compounded by fake news that continues to pervade social media platforms and websites. In times of pandemic, where emotions are already running high, fake news can be even more incendiary and harmful. For this week’s Project: Create challenge, K-12 students will have the opportunity to create a public service announcement or visual art piece (and perhaps, both!) addressing a societal issue in a factual way. The winners will receive 4 entry tickets and a gift basket from this week’s sponsor, the Denver Museum of Art, and will be featured on TV!
As you all know, the principles of equity and access are core to our approach to E-School and, as always, our Special Education Teachers are key players in ensuring we fulfill this commitment to all of our students.
DSST Family,
We invite you to join our Virtual Affinity Groups for DSST Staff, as well as a special PD session on Systemic Health & Social Inequities During COVID-19.
We hope you all are well during these times, and while things may be changing in the world around us, one thing is still the same… DSST is still hiring! While we have been extremely successful in filling most of our core roles already for next year, the one content we are still searching for candidates is in Special Education. We know from experience that one of the best sources for new team members is YOU, so we are reaching out today to ask for your help in recruiting some amazing licensed Special Education Teachers for our students for the 20-21 school year.
The winners of last week's Project: Create challenge are here! Congratulations to the winners, and great work to everyone who entered!
