CG HS Student Advocates at Capitol
Olivia Batist is taking honors math and physics, but her friend — whom she thinks is just as smart — is not. Batist, a ninth grader at DSST: Conservatory Green in northeast Denver, believes the difference is that her friend’s parents aren’t able to advocate for their daughter the same way her own parents have advocated for her.
At Our Core: DSST's Theatrical Side
While DSST boasts a rigorous STEM program, allowing students to innovate every day with challenging projects, experiments, and internships, there is also space to excel in more artistic endeavors. This has been exemplified by DSST: Conservatory Green High School sophomore Katanu Mwendwa, who recently won the prestigious DCPA Education Regional High School Playwriting Workshop and Competition for her play Después de la lluvia (After the Rain). She is one of three finalists whose play will be read at the 2019 Colorado New Play Summit on February 23.
Charter School Basics for Student Recruitment
As SchoolChoice unfolds and families consider their options, you may hear questions about the differences between charter schools and other public schools. Below, we have outlined answers to some common questions you may encounter when talking to parents, students or community members during the school choice window.

At Our Core: GVR MS Students Show Newsworthy Generosity
In the midst of a historic government shutdown, the students and staff at DSST: GVR Middle School have made their way into the news with generosity and thoughtfulness. Close to Denver International Airport, GVR shares a community with many of the TSA agents who continue to work tirelessly without pay. To support these government workers during this difficult time, 6th grade math teacher Shasta Smith started a food drive to which these students could contribute.
