DSST Team,
CBS4 Denver:
We are all incredibly disappointed we didn’t have the chance to recognize this incredible group of teachers in person this year as part of our Night to Celebrate Exemplary Teaching - first because of a blizzard and then because of a pandemic. While we continue to plan on finding a way to celebrate Exemplary Teaching in this upcoming school year we simply couldn’t close out this school year without elevating the incredible work and impact of this special group. We’ve put together a series of three Virtual Nights to Celebrate Exemplary Teaching. These nights will include student speeches, videos of teachers in action, comments from team members and special acknowledgements for all awardees.
In this week’s challenge, students will explore the world of superheroes and villains, and create their own, based on topics within the Arts or STEM worlds. The world is filled with shades of grey, but the good vs. evil binary pervades in many of the stories, real and fictional, that we know and love. Superheroes and villains go head to head in movies, books, podcasts, TV, sometimes even the news, but in Project: Create this week, students will present these characters through a trading card or a comic book. Please encourage your students and any K-12 Colorado student you may know to participate in this contest!
DSST offers a number of voluntary benefits to help protect you from the unexpected. Learn more about these cost-saving benefits on our Benefits Website and make sure to enroll in coverage through Workday by May 29th!
