DENVER (CBS4) – A group of 10 students from Denver’s DSST: College View High School are raising money for a mission trip to the devastated island of Puerto Rico. While the initial focus of the mission trip was to help the island recover from Hurricane Maria, following the recent earthquakes, their mission could evolve.

The Bulldogs at DSST Middle School @ Noel need your help! In just 18 short months, the founding class of Noel will be moving up to 9th grade. We promised our Noel families a 6-12 high quality education, and we intend to keep that promise. But we need your support as we ensure that DPS keeps their promise to the families of the Far Northeast to offer high quality middle and high school options.
We hope that the Winter Break brought you some quality time with your family, your pets, and maybe even your family’s pets. As we slide into the new year,we’re excited to highlight more of our amazing staff and their unforgettable pets.
The spirit of gratitude and celebration was strong this Giving & Cheer season, with 965 shout-outs generated across the network! This year, our charity of choice was Denver Food Rescue, a nonprofit that serves Denver’s hardest to access food insecure communities to produce health equity with Denver neighborhoods. We pledged to donate $1 for every shout-out you send (up to $800), and are excited to share that Denver Food Rescue will turn our $800 into $5,600 in fresh produce for families in need across the city.
As we charge into a new year and a new decade, it’s a great opportunity to reflect, learn, and expand our horizons through a great book. With a network full of curious and wise educators, we want to hear about the books that made a difference to you this year. They don’t necessarily have to be published this year- just something that you enjoyed reading this year.
The Giving and Cheer Committee wants to thank all who participated in the Winter Wonderland Decorating Contest! There were so many beautiful and creative submissions that helped to spread cheer across our campuses!

When Pet of the Week was just getting started, one of the front-runners to kick us off was Director of External Affairs & Student Recruitment Hillary Hoffman, and her adorable dog Homer. He’s been more than ready for his close-up and is finally taking the spotlight right before we head off for winter break.
