DENVER (CBS4) – Denver’s school board is under fire from a charter school director and families who say the board is playing politics with kids education. The battle comes to a head Thursday when the board will vote on whether to allow Rachel B. Noel Middle School in Northeast Denver to add a high school.
Denver Post:
We are excited to put additional measures in place to promote the health and safety of our staff and students participating in in-person opportunities! To keep our community safe, DSST will be requiring any team member or student participating in in-person opportunities to take a health screener from home prior to traveling to a DSST school. This screener asks our team members and families to take their temperature as well as identify if they are experiencing or could have been exposed to someone experiencing any other COVID-19 symptoms. This tool will save students and families time while mitigating the risk of a community spread by quickly supporting our community with wellness checks at home.
Here are some useful tools to get yourself up an running with the Daily Health Screener Tool:
If you have any questions on where you can get a flu shot please call Aetna’s concierge line at 1-866-307-6096.

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a big election quickly approaching! While so much of our time can be spent discussing the presidential election, there are also also many different items on the ballot this year that directly affect the work we do to serve our school community.
Throughout the month of September, DSST Team Members had an opportunity to connect on the best strategies to support Caregivers throughout the network both during virtual learning and in-person learning. Take a look at the DSST Caregiver Focus Group Findings and Recommendations as we continuously advocate as a network in putting people and families first.
Thank you for joining us last Friday for our all-staff Town Hall, where we covered details on our decision to partially reopen schools after Fall Break. We received over fifty thoughtful and timely questions during the Town Hall. And, while we were able to address a handful of your questions, there were many that we were unable to get to during the live meeting. Please see a summary of our conversation that includes our team’s responses to the questions and themes we were unable to cover during the live event.
